At the Club's 2017 annual meeting Morgan McLellan from the Regina Qu'Appelle Health Region presented about food safety. A lively discussion ensued amongst a number of members about what exactly the legal requirements were for small honey producers, especially when it came to selling in a retail location. As no one was completely knowledgeable or prepared about the myriad of regulations applying to the sale of honey, a number of members were left more confused than they were at the beginning of the meeting. The Club determined that it would be good to clear up the confusion for members and Club President (and lawyer) Yens Pedersen conducted a thorough review of the various laws.
