The Saskatchewan Beekeepers' Association is hosting its 2016 Field Day at Hamilton Apiaries, just north of Regina, on June 18, 2016. To support the SBA event and in lieu of hosting our own field day, the Regina & District Bee Club will be encouraging members to attend the SBA field day for a day of education and fellowship.
Join beekeepers from across the province for a day of fun and learning with bees, capped off with a scrumptious pig roast.
The day's schedule can be accessed here. Directions to Hamilton Apiaries can be accessed here.
This course will cover all matters to inform a person who is trying to decide whether to get into keeping honeybees. It will also provide some basic information for a person who is starting with bees this year, although it will not have the same depth as the Beginner Beekeeper Course in June. (This course is to help you decide IF you want to keep bees and to assist you with making some prelimary decisions. The 2 day course in June is designed to teach you HOW to keep bees).
Come and enjoy this two day course which enables participants to experience both theory and practical field experience. Instructors include the Saskatchewan Beekeepers’ Association, Saskatchewan Ministry of Agriculture staff and experienced beekeepers from the Regina Bee & District Bee Club. Every one of all experience levels are welcome. Click here for complete course description.
