The RDBC Executive consists of 6 volunteer positions. President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, and 2 director positions. Each executive member is elected during our members’ annual general meeting in the spring and holds their position for a 2 year term. Executive duties are spread out across the board. The President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer are selected by the the board itself at it’s first meeting, and the President must have had previous experience on the board before becoming President. Under the constitution, an executive member can only serve for two consecutive terms (i.e. a total of four years in a row) without taking a break of at least one year.

PresidentI moved to Bethune in October 2023 from Hudson Bay. Previously had a hog barn with my husband in Alberta, cattle farm in Alberta then Saskatchewan 2002. Cattle and then grain farming which goes well with beekeeping.
Had up to 120 mature colonies up north selling nucs. Sold out in 2022 keeping only 4 hives which were requeening themselves. We plan on getting up to a few hundred.
Very happy to have the opportunity to promote Beekeeping and farming in general through the Club.
Chris Oleson
Vice PresidentI retired from a career in policing and aviation in 2017. I have lived in Regina since 1994 with my wife, Kris. We have two adult children and three granddaughters.
I acquired my first nuc of bees in 2016 following the Beginners Bee Course offered by the club. I took advantage of the mentorship program and am very grateful for the assistance that the club provides. I started with one hive and since have varied from 2 to 4 hives. I have had bees in both an urban and a
rural area.
I hope to contribute to the continued success of the Regina and District Bee Club.
Jolene McDonald
SecretaryMy name is Jolene and I’m an urban beekeeper based in Regina. I started my beekeeping journey in 2024 with the goal of helping pollinate my garden and keeping my family stocked with fresh honey. My family includes my husband, Corey, our two kids (ages 11 and 7), and our dog Link. I’m passionate about sustainability and enjoy learning about the wonders of bees and their essential role in our environment.
Lyle Fluter
TreasurerLyle retired from a career in Banking and Telecommunication in 2014. He was born in a rural setting and still owns the family farm where his Honey Bees reside. He has lived in Regina since 1975 with his wife, Brenda. They have three adult children and four grandchildren.
Lyle acquired his first bee hive in 2022 from a Regina Bee Club member. He started with one hive and now has 2 hives.
Lyle is currently on 6 different non-profit board in Regina. He has been volunteering since 1975 doing sporting events which included 11 years volunteering for Regina Rough Riders. In 2013 Lyle was the Telecommunication lead (SaskTel) for Grey Cup in Regina, a Bucket list event.
With his diverse background, he will contribute to the continued success of the Regina and District Bee Club.
Jade Benesh

Jade and her husband, José, are stewards of a homestead near McLean, SK, where they are architecting a life of regenerative land practices alongside their three children, two dogs, and a growing beeyard.
Jade brings to the board a sensibility at once deeply rooted and delightfully unmoored. A dreamer whose hands are perpetually stained with the evidence of her latest pursuit, she approaches governance from the fertile crossroads of curiosity, craft, and the quiet hum of a thriving hive. Her philosophy is built upon immersive knowledge-sharing—whether introducing a curious friend to the buzz of their first hive experience, researching both emerging and traditional approaches to animal and land stewardship, or spinning honey into treats and wax into crafts that carry a story from the farm to the hands that hold them.
Following her apian education in 2024, Jade established her first hives in 2025, and speaks with genuine gratitude of the Regina & District Bee Club, a community she credits as being so accepting and supportive it restored her faith that there are still corners of the world where generosity of spirit is the only currency that matters, and that the best things in life are best pursued in the company of fellow enthusiasts who understand why you talk to your bees.
Troy Schill
VolunteerAs a dedicated beekeeper since the age of 12, I am eager to expand my knowledge and gain experience in the operational aspects of running a club.
Like many beekeepers, my fascination with bees started with curiosity. Watching honeybees work tirelessly to pollinate flowers and produce honey sparked an interest that quickly turned into a hands-on learning experience. My experience includes successfully overwintering a beehive, quickly identifying, and handling the queen, and isolating her in a cage. My passion for beekeeping has driven me to develop these skills independently, and I am always eager to learn more.
I love the opportunity to discuss my enthusiasm and experience as a beekeeper. As a fast learner, I believe I can contribute to our club while gaining valuable insight into club management and beekeeping best practices.
Linda Kletchko
Past PresidentGreg and Linda purchased our first hives after moving to St. Joseph’s Hamlet in 1995. With the goal to become self sustaining they jumped in and surrounded ourselves with all the farm animals one expects to have on a farm. A huge vegetable garden and more fruit trees than a person can ever use keeps the freezers full. Knowing absolutely nothing about honey bees we immediately became members of the Regina Bee Club, volunteering, attending the meetings, socials and always talking to fellow beekeepers (did I mention volunteering?), we quickly learned about this industry called beekeeping.
70+ hives later, I am still volunteering in the Regina Bee Club and have served on the Board in one capacity or another for most of my beekeeping life.
